Manteigas, Estrela Heart what to expect on this ebike tour
A route that takes you along the slopes that surround the village of Manteigas. Starting at Penhas Douradas, a place full of mountain landscapes and history. You will travel through some of the most beautiful forests in Serra da Estrela. You will visit viewpoints with views over villages, valleys and the central massif of Estrela, as well as places of high geological importance.
Thus, the Zêzere Glacial valley could not fail to be included in this route. After all, this is one of the most important testimonies of the ice-shaped history of our mountain. Like Lagoa Seca, another important testimony of the action of glaciers in the Serra.
Before visiting the Poço do Inferno waterfall, you’ll travel through the Serra de Baixo plateau. This is certainly one of the places with the best views of the central massif of our mountain. The route ends in the chestnut forest of Souto do Concelho.

- 8 km dirt roads.
- 41 km paved roads with few traffic. (8 km main road and 33Km secondary roads).
- Technical difficulty: Easy.

MTB beginers option
- Total: 45 km; 1020 m positive gradient; 1790 m negative gradient.
- 29 km off road (mountain roads and roman road).
- 16 km paved roads with few traffic (secondary roads).
- Technical difficulty: Easy.
- Physical difficulty: Moderate.
Experienced MTB version
- Total: 42 km; 1100 m positive gradient; 1860 m negative gradient.
- 25 km off road (mounatin road and roman road)
- 5 km echnical single track (rocky)
- 12 km paved road with few traffic (secondary roads)
- Technical difficulty: Easy.
- Physical difficulty: Moderate.
You should bring comfortable cycling clothes, water and snacks for reinforcement.
