Serra da Estrela Central Massif: Where are you going
A real adventure to get to know the Central Massif of Serra da Estrela. But also to explore other areas of the mountain.
By bicycle you can enjoy forest areas of enormous beauty, the eastern plateau with its superb views, the famous Covão d’Ametade, views of several glacial valleys, an endless number of places of geological interest, Lagoa Comprida, the village of Penhas Douradas , between others. In the trekking we made the ascent from Covão d’Ametade to the summit of Cântaro Gordo (1875m) and we visited some lakes in altitude of the central plateau.

About the Route
The Ebike route takes place on a paved road (about 12 km by national road) and mountain roads. At the end, the descent to Manteigas follows an old pavement with steep sections, suitable for beginners in mountain biking. The alternative route does not present any technical difficulties, so it is suitable for anyone who knows how to ride a bicycle.
The trekking takes place on footpaths. It does not present any major technical difficulties and with the help of the guide, anyone with good physical preparation can make this ascent.
You should bring comfortable clothes for cycling and trekking, water and lunch, as well as snacks.
Minimum height for renting na electric bicycle is 1,50 meters.
